Jan Gallagher
Jan Gallagher, Ph.D., is a consultant specializing in clear, effective communication strategies for nonprofits. For the Robert Bowne Foundation, she manages and edits not only The Page Turner but also the journal Afterschool Matters and the Occasional Paper Series. She has 20 years of experience as a writer, editor, and educator.
Lena Townsend
Lena Townsend is executive director of the Robert Bowne Foundation, where her responsibilities include oversight of grants made for literacy-based afterschool and youth programming. She has published articles on reading, professional development, and adult literacy. She holds a master’s degree in reading from Teachers College, Columbia University, and an M.P.A. in not-for-profit management and policy from NYU's Wagner School.
Michelle Yanche
Since 1993, Michelle Yanche has served as Director of the Neighborhood Family Services Coalition, a New York City-based organization that works to promote the provision of quality services for young people and families at the neighborhood level. She also coordinates the New York City Youth Alliance, a citywide coalition of advocacy organizations working on behalf of youth development and employment programs. She has also led NFSC as a co-organizer with United Neighborhood Houses of the Campaign for Summer Jobs. A member of Government Affairs Professionals, Michelle serves on the boards of directors of the Association of New York State Youth Bureaus and the New York State Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families.
